Lighting Up West Des Moines for Economic Growth

Iowa Network Services has completed the first phase of our INS Fiber Optic Network expansion in West Des Moines, providing fiber-based solutions throughout the city.  With 40 Gigabit capabilities, businesses in West Des Moines can now rely on the INS network to meet increasing needs for high bandwidth usage.

In addition to providing for increased speed needs, our INS Fiber Optic Network connections maintain integrity of signals more efficiently than legacy copper wire. We use multihoming to three Tier 1 national backbone providers and a self-healing architecture helps protect data and minimizes service disruption.

We’re committing significant resources - $25 million over five years to expand our fiber optic network into central Iowa and statewide.  “Our company is dedicated to being the leading provider of next generation solutions that enable success. This is the motivation behind our ‘Five by Five’ project,” says Ron Keller, INS President and CEO.

“We are very pleased to work with the City of West Des Moines to make significant investments to ensure that this city has the technology infrastructure to successfully compete in the marketplace. Connecting to the INS Fiber Optic Network assures businesses of speed capabilities and reliability to satisfy growing demand for bandwidth now and into the future.”
