The Iowa Telecommunications Company Coalition comprised of Iowa Network Services (INS), Iowa Telecommunications Association (ITA), and Rural Iowa Independent Telephone Association (RIITA) represents the Iowa telecoms and their position as proposed regulations threaten the telecommunication networks these independent providers have built.

For over 100 years, Iowa's Independent Telecommunications Companies have invested in advanced networks and infrastructure to keep our state connected. We are united in our advocacy efforts to ensure policymakers and legislators understand the importance of robust broadband deployment in rural America and to create awareness of how proposed policies need to be dramatically altered to avoid discrimination of services between rural and urban customers.

What:

The fact is that strong, Independent Telecommunications Companies are crucial to rural Iowa's vitality and economic success. Our goal is to raise your awareness about our telecommunications infrastructure and keep the public informed on connectivity issues that directly impact the state.

Why:

We believe all Iowans should have access to affordable telecommunication services, including broadband connection as guaranteed by Congress in the Telecommunications Act of 1996. Despite its grand promises, proposed policies threaten rural Iowa's current communications networks and displaces long-established policies that ensure everyone has access to comparable service at comparable costs.
